From jamesmarsters.comThe winter festival has always been about hope in the face of oncoming winter and the possibility of death. I think this would be a good year to gather your loved ones around, make them something or buy them something, wrap it beautifully and have a good day with them. If you don’t have somebody then get a little green tree, buy yourself a little something or see a good movie and love yourself. You never know, guys - this next year might be historically wonderful and the beginning of everything good. Wishing you all a happy winter festival. Love, James

And We fans say to you James ---Merry Christmas, We hope you'll spend your time with your loved kids, and good job in Dragonball.---

Q_A December

How do you feel about censorship in general and has your view of censorship changed since you had kids?
That’s a really good question. I am adverse to any form of censorship but there are appropriate outlets. I’ve always felt that way. hat is appropriate for a late night comedian is not necessarily right for a 3 PM television show.

Name something you've heard about women that tends to be true?

Women are human beings. No other generalizations I can make - anything else would seem foolish. Everyone is an individual. Some women share more in common with me than some men.

As "Spike" you were asked to do a little bit of everything - from comedy to high drama. What do you find more difficult - comedy or drama and why?
Personally I find comedy more difficult. Drama needs sincerity most of all but comedy needs sincerity and rhythm and every script has it’s own comedic rhythm. I’ve seen people go insane to try and find it. For Buffy it was easy because the comedy was very dry.

While most of your songs speak of emotions, there are also a few like "Lou" and "Button Down Vandals" which are simple narrative. How does the connection differ with the audience when you perform both types of songs and which do you find more satisfying creatively?
It’s true most of my songs are navel-gazing songs, but I’m trying to get away from that and write songs about people who don’t exist except in my head. I think the audience appreciates when I climb out of my navel. It’s warm in there but a bit stuffy. The song “Lou” and “Button Down Vandals” are taken from my own life. They are actually not stories but my own history. continue...

Ps I love you premiere video clip

Here is a little James' interview and an other here

PS I Love You Premiere Interviews
Rebecca Murray from Hollywood Movies at the World Premiere of P.S. I Love You.

James Marsters ('John')

So tell me about working on this film, mostly women, especially after 'Gerry' (played by Gerard Butler) dies. What was that like?

James Marsters: "That was not bad. That was not bad at all."

It's not a bad group to be hanging out with for a long period of time.

James Marsters: "No, man. Kathy Bates was so awesome. She was like, we were on the set for like 12 hours before they even turned around and got our coverage, which a lot of actors will be like [imitating irritation]. And Kathy had like a fever of 102 and she was like dead. She turns around, she's the first through the door and we're about to have our coverage, she goes, 'Men from the boys, man. Men from the boys. Ready!,' like that. I used to tell younger actors that all the time. 'You think you're tired? Is this a tough job? Are you tired?' And she did that to us and I thought that was rocking. It was fabulous."

What is it like working with Richard LaGravenese?

James Marsters: "The best, the absolute best. He's very demanding but he's very kind about it."

Writer/Director Richard LaGravenese

Hilary Swank's obviously not a choice we see a lot in romantic comedies. Why? She can do it.

Richard LaGravenese: "I met Hilary and worked with her on Freedom Writers and I got to know who she is. I got to know the girl. She's this funny, self-deprecating, goofy, down-to-earth every woman. She's so beautiful and she's never been given a chance to do this kind of thing. I wanted to show that she could. I wanted to give her that chance. And also to me it's a fresh idea. The genre's been done quite a bit and it'd be great to bring some new interpretation to it."

Thank you for the nice eye candy for women in this one.

Richard LaGravenese: "You're very welcome. You can thank my wife and daughter for Jeffrey Dean [Morgan] too. They sat me down and made me see the last three episodes of Grey's Anatomy> so that I would cast Denny."

And you knew that when you saw him?

Richard LaGravenese: "As soon as I saw him I knew that was Denny."

Did you know that Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank would have that kind of chemistry onscreen?

Richard LaGravenese: "No, no, no. We were very lucky."

The chemistry is fantastic in this. Coming out at the end of the year, is this the perfect time for a romantic film?

Richard LaGravenese: "It is the perfect time for this, yeah. It's the time for people to really just enjoy some romance. When you go to a movie and you just can hang out with some lovely characters and some lovely people and enjoy a nice story, I think it's a great thing for the holidays."

P.S. I Love You Author Cecelia Ahern

What inspired you to write this?

Cecelia Ahern: "You know, it came from my absolute fear of what it'd be like to lose the people I love the most. So I think I took a really, really dark, sad situation that we all have to go through and tried to make it positive."

You've never had anyone in your life who's left letters behind?

Cecelia Ahern: "I have no idea where that came from. I just thought, 'Well, I love writing and I love words.' I think that if someone was to leave those things behind it would just be such a special, precious thing that you could hold onto and read over and over again, so that's why."

We know that Hollywood doesn't always do the best job when they take a book and make it into a movie. Were you a little bit scared turning it over to Hollywood to do something like this or did you just jump in?

Cecelia Ahern: "I was so excited. I was just like, 'Whatever!' I was really excited about somebody else's interpretation of my story. I think Richard did a fantastic job. The actors are amazing. Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Kathy Bates, Lisa Kudrow…like who can, you know… I can't complain about anything. It's absolutely fantastic."

How closely did the characters in your mind when you were writing them look like any of these guys who ended up playing them?

Cecelia Ahern: "Scarily, Gerry – Gerard – looked exactly like 'Gerry'. When I met him, it was like meeting a ghost. So it was fantastic. Everybody was cast just perfectly."

Did Richard talk to you about adapting it? Were you involved in that process at all?

Cecelia Ahern: "No I wasn't involved at all, which is absolutely fine. I didn't even need to be. He did a great job all by himself."

Repot from Steve_ P.S. Premiere

From a report of Steve about wonderful last night:

It was a really wonderful, exciting night for James at the premiere of PS I Love You. The premiere was held at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. James arrived in a limo provided by the studio and proceeded to walk down the red carpet and do about 45 minutes of interviews. The press all wanted to know more about his upcoming role in Dragonball! He met up with his fellow cast mates (Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Harry Connick Jr., Lisa Kudrow and Gina Gershon) and they all took a cast photo before heading in to watch the movie. The movie (in my opinion) is a really well made, beautiful love story. I was really proud every time James’ character came on screen. When the movie let out, James was headed to the limo to go to the after party when he spotted a group of familiar faces (fans) waiting on the side and he ran over to say hello. He then headed off to the party to join everyone in celebrating the launch of the movie. He looked like a million bucks wearing a really sharp all black suit and shirt (no tie) - hard to imagine no jeans and t-shirt. - Steve

James on cinema soon.

---Without a trace, James will be in the next episode Dec 6th on CBS at 10pm

News about Torchwood The second season will begin airing on Jan. 26 at 9:00PM ET/PT and this new season will be rife with exciting guest stars including James Marsters

- In A long Chris Chibnall interview in Deathray magazine from
they talk about James's character and his wonderful performance:
-DR: And then, of course, there’s a guest role for Buffy’s Spike himself, James Marsters, and I think it’s safe to say there’s a lot of interest in that…

CC: Yes, frighteningly so. He kind of embodies the sense of fun and adventure that we’re bringing to the show in its second year. His character is an absolute match for Jack, in every way, and James himself is an astonishingly good performer. I’ve followed his career through Buffy and Angel and Smallville, but I’m not sure I knew how superb he was until I saw the stuff he’s dong with us. He’s a very bold, charismatic, funny and emotional actor. His performance in TW is just brilliant; I can’t say enough good things about him. Yes, he plays it English, and no, I wouldn’t know if he’s as good a kisser as John Barrowman has said. I’d have to rely on John for that! Bit he’s a brilliant character to kick off the series - he’s likeable and exciting.

yesssssssssssss P.S. I love you in Italian theater too imdb 8 March 2008 (Italy) yeahhhhh.
In this website you can see some photos about movie, there is our love James.

Q_A November

If you were in the Mississippi Delta and were down at the Crossroads (no soul selling involved), would you ask to be the greatest guitarist or actor?
I don’t believe in the Crossroads. I believe that the Blues were created in response to slavery and had nothing to do with the Devil. The Devil can’t help me be a good actor either. I’m not afraid of the Devil.

In the movie House on Haunted Hill when the elevator appeared to be free falling, was it in the script to jump up and down or did they just type in something to the effect of interviewer/cameraman: "panic" and you improvised that action yourself?
Yes, that is exactly right! I always thought that I would jump up at the last moment and save myself which I understand from Myth Busters that that wouldn’t work. I’ve also noticed that when people get very frightened they hop from one foot to the other, almost as if they want to run. I think this is very dear. So yes, that was my idea, thanks for noticing.

Which do you personally find more difficult: to apologize or to forgive and why?
Way easier to apologize. I can admit that I am a jerk sometimes, life has taught me that; but forgiveness is really tough. I have perfected ostracization instead.

Have you ever spent like a THOUSAND HOURS working on a song all night, finally got to sleep, then wake up the next morning and think it sounds like s**t?
(laughs) Yes, my notebook is full of them!

I was listening to NPR the other day and they said that Quentin Tarantino believes he was Shakespeare in a previous life. Any thoughts on that? I think it's hilarious.
(giggles) Go Quentin! He’s right. There’s 120 million atoms from Shakespeare’s body that are right now in Quentin’s body, maybe he senses that – but it’s true for everybody. There’s a good book to read called “The Brief History of Everything”.

James is back in Wales

From JMlive:
James is back in Wales and busy preparing for the European launch of his new solo CD 'Like A Waterfall'.
James, who filmed the opening episode of the new series of Torchwood in Cardiff earlier this year, says:
I'm having a blast in Cardiff finding my way round. Can't wait to see everybody and I promise, this time no flooding. I'm having fun in Cardiff getting into trouble with Gareth - maybe he's going to rock harder than me this time. See you on the 17th.

Marsters learns to leave Spike behind

A new interview of James from Boston now :

James Marsters is best know for playing Spike on both Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, where his mix of intensity, wit, and soul (pun intended) earned him a devoted following. He currently has a recurring role on Without A Trace and later this season will return to Smallville for multiple episodes (reprising a role from last year) as well as appearing on the upcoming second season of BBC America's Torchwood. Recently Boston Now talked to him about his acting, his singing, and the part that made him famous.

BN: You've got a lot on your plate these days. Was it a conscious decision to work more or is this just when the jobs came in?
JM: Life goes in cycles. This is just when the jobs came in. I'm hitting a good part of my life mentally ... I don't know if biorhythms are correct but sometimes you just hit a good part of your life and things are just humming. People want to hire you, people can't get enough of you and everything you do seems to turn out well, and then sometimes you can't seem to catch a break. Frankly for about nine months now I have been a little golden. That probably means in a year I'll hit a skid but right now things are humming.

BN: How did you end up on Without A Trace?
JM: I don't know why the cast me. I know they like me on set but I think they just like my haircut (laughing). They didn't need me for ratings; it was just an audition. They needed a cop that the audience would trust quickly and I was in a good mood ... I think I bragged about the brand new suit I was wearing (laughing). I think I'm the trustable cop, which probably means I'm going to die.

BN: That leads into my next question. Reports have been that you are doing four episodes with the potential to turn into more.
JM: I'm glad they told you (laughing). That's great. Really?

"Bad" Civilized man

We met, we smiled
I put my arm around you
The camera flashed and it was over
My face was flushed
You turned and walked away
But in my pocket was your number
And I'm thinking

Who's that girl who smiles and hides at the same time
I really think she's got issues
The way she looks at me I can tell what a kiss brings
And if I taste her pain is that a crime

That night
We're upstairs in my room
I'm trying to ply you
With champagne and caviar
But you just wrinkle up your face
Won't get off second base
I'm trippin' on how strong you are

Oh my toes start dancing when you kiss me
You pull me down and I like it
Then my head explodes and I know something's hit me
You make me want to be bad...yeah

I am a monkey behind glass
turn on the lights have a laugh
get up you filthy thing and dance
and you would come across the sea
give me kisses that would speak
of your seven lonely oceans

who are you to smile and hide at the same time
I really like your issues
the way you look at me I can tell what a kiss brings
you make me want to be bad... yeah

[10-29-07] Great seeing everyone at the album launch. You guys rock! I was super nervous about my broken finger but everyone made it okay and supported “Karaoke” James on stage! Thank you Ryan for saving my ass.
I know we were a little off on the timing of the photos and autographs but I really enjoyed spending some time with each of you. It was great not being rushed.
Steve tells me that a lot of you are concerned about my finger and I promise I’ll be good and get it taken care of.

Report US album launch

From CDS report and photos of concert performed yesterday to Los Angeles for new album of James US launch.
Seems that James broken his finger of left hand, he told, when he was in Canada for shooting smallville, in his hotel room, the middle of the night when he was getting up to take a piss, tripped over his own shoes in the near-darkness, and found his own face coming towards himself. Realizing that he was about to crash into the full-length mirror and that he had to film the next day, he did a "not the face! not the face!" and put his hands out to stop himself, and broke his finger because the corner was right there. So he was able to play about 70% of his set list by just using his other three fingers for power chords, but some songs he had to do Karaoke-style to the instrumental tracks from the CD.He repaired his guitar Malcolm, so he used that for to play.

---Poor baby! I hope his broken finger will heal for Cardiff's event---
