Rumors about James in Torchwood

In a report of Garet's fan, about Collectormania Glasgow, there are some rumor about James in torchwood :

I asked about James Marsters, and he said working with him had been great and they’d got on well together. James is in the first and last episode of series 2, though Gareth thinks that because he was so good, James will be invited back as a recurring character.

Checking in With James Marsters_interview

From EW.com a interview By Vanessa Juarez at James, he talk about P.S. I love you and Without a Trace.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How are you? I hear it's your birthday.
JAMES MARSTERS: You want to sing me a song? Just kidding.

You want to sing me a song? Mine was yesterday.

Well... [Sings] Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday, Vanessa... Happy birthday to you. Okay, my turn.

[Singing] Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday, deaaaar...
James.

...Jaaaaames. I couldn't decide on whether to go with your last name or not.

[Laughs] Right on.

So I wanted to talk to you about life and things that are going on in your career, specifically Without a Trace. How'd that come about?
It was an audition like many others. Interestingly, I met Nick Brendon [who played Xander on Buffy] in the waiting room for the audition and we caught up. I'm sure he was both happy and not happy that I got the role. There's been 100 roles that I've auditioned for that I didn't get, but I didn't see Nick. The one that I meet Nick on, I beat him out of the role. So I think he's probably in the process of forgiving me for that.

What's your character like?
I play Detective Mars. He's from Baltimore and he has been working on a case for a good while and hasn't been able to crack it. The FBI in New York [on] that same case call him in to help. And then, in dramatic fashion, they stumble into something bigger than they expected.

You've been pretty busy since Buffy. What have these various experiences been like?
It was a love fest over on [TNT's Holly Hunter series] Saving Grace — I walked into a Woodstock. Everyone was coming off of having filmed a fabulous pilot and being very proud of that and really loving the experience. You have to check when they're on episode 20, see how they're doing, if they're still feeling the love. I've had some difficult ends of seasons for sure. I was in luck, I got on [for the] first episode.

What was the cast like?
I was totally outclassed by Holly Hunter. I have gotten used to being one of the older actors in a young cast. [She's] probably younger than I am, but just better. [Laughs] So effortlessly herself. I hopefully took some notes. That was a rude eye-opening but also a wonderful thing, you know: ''Keep walking, brother, you're not quite there yet.''

Any chance you'll be back?
Well, [my character] killed somebody, so unless...

I haven't actually seen the episode, to tell you the truth.

I played a character named Dudley, man. And if you're in a cop show and your name is Dudley, you have one episode. You can't count on more than that.

You also have a role in Richard LaGravenese's P.S., I Love You, with Gerard Butler and Hillary Swank.
Yeah, Hilary... Again — outclassed, man. Hilary is...just no filter at all. She really is that nice. I play the best friend of Hilary's husband [Butler], who dies of cancer but finds a way to help his wife get through the mourning process even though he's dead. Not a large role, but a nice little role, actually. And the entire cast was just outrageous. continue...

Q_A August

What gadget should someone invent that would make your life easier? Is there a particular George F. Walker character that you would like to play?
I’d like to play the bum character in Criminals in Love. He is so bitter and so wise and so loving. A great combination that I’ve never seen written so strongly.

How much of your time, when not filming, do you spend thinking of your characters? Do you spend time creating back-stories, etc?
Yes, I spend time but it’s not an intellectual process. It’s just time going over the script and losing myself in the fantasy of the story. Things bubble up without my bidding, ideas occur to me but it’s not an intellectual process.

Do you agree that all is fair in love and war?
No, nothing's fair in love and nothing is fair in war. That’s why you should avoid wars at all times and avoid love until you are absolutely ready ...continue in official

Synopsis

Italy 1943. A young married couple subsist on their isolated farm, convinced that the war will never reach them. They go on ignoring the truth and ignoring the crisis in their marriage - until two deserters arrive demanding food and shelter.

Italy’s people and army are divided. On one side, deserters and partisans fight against those who a few days ago were allies, the Germans. Conversely some continue to fight for the Germans, who are now invaders and occupiers. This divide still exists to this day in the conscience of Italians as one of the most dramatic episodes of WW2.

In the area surrounding the farmhouse hate and betrayal set in. Close friends become spies and enemies. This explosive situation fuels the couple’s crisis and exposes their darkest secrets.

The husband falls in love with one deserter, awakening his hidden homosexuality, desperate to love amongst all this hate and death. At the same time the wife falls in love with the younger deserter. Out of the night come intense emotions that are allowed to take flight.

War is the greatest calamity, but also the spark needed to ignite passions. Past and future don't exist, it’s the present that’s important, when love, truth, passion, hate and death arrive.

Comic-Con '07- TORCHWOOD Interview w/ Chris Chibnall & Noel Clark

Torchwood head writer and show runner Chris Chibnall and writer and actor Noel Clark took time out of their busy schedules at Comic-con on Thursday to talk to Whedonopolis about the show and James Marsters, who has just finished filming his appearance in the second season. Here’s what they said.

W: Does James Marsters speak with a British accent?
CC: Oh! You’re going to get an exclusive on that, aren’t you? Yes, he does.
W: Yes!
NC: That is an exclusive.
CC: That is an exclusive. Nobody’s asked us that. I don’t think that’s a spoiler. His British accent is brilliant! I’ve seen the rushes. I’ve seen the filming. I’ve seen an early assembly of the stuff. He is brilliant. He is so fantastic in this show. I can not even begin to say. Of course he is, ‘cause he’s a brilliant actor but he fits the show and he takes the character by the scruff of the neck. He’s playing a character who is a match for Captain Jack and it’s just wonderful to see, I have to say.
W: Is there any chance his character will come back in the future?
CC: I don’t know. I’m not going to tell you how the story ends, am I?

HOW ABOUT A COUPLE OF EXTRA QUESTIONS THIS MONTH

From official site of James a couple of exstra questions:
What's the secret to starting an interesting conversation with a complete stranger?
Connect with them as a human being. We're all the same. Whether we're black, white, rich or poor, Christian or Muslim, man or woman, 95% of our impulses, fears, hopes and dreams are the same. We all want love - we all fear isolation. We all want better for our children than we had. Everyone. I watched something on the History channel about this. Apparently, there are ten dreams that comprise 90% of everyone's dream-life and what that means is that on a VERY deep level, on the deepest of levels, we're the same. So, when you meet somebody that's a stranger, who seems different from you, just realize that they're not different from you. You can connect with that person based on the deepest of truths about yourself. Just because you grew up with a popsicle in your mouth and they grew up in the desert trying to find water - well, talk about music, talk about your hopes for your children, talk about loving some girl who doesn't love you; and you'll find that they're just like you. more...

Torchwood Cover Stars

Torchwood stars , John Barrowman and James Marsters appear on the latest cover of “Starburst” Magazine, Issue 353.

Gardner's World:
It's been announced that James Marsters will be guest starring in the first episode. Can you say more about the part he plays and how did his casting come about?

" He has some secrets about Captain Jack. He's filming with us now and I think he's having a good time. I completely adored him on Buffy - how could you not? I think he's mesmerising. It's an episode written by Chris Chibnall and I think Chris was part way through the script when we realised that James was a possibility to play the part. The excitement of having an actor of that calibre I'm sure informed the writing." more...
