James got hurt.

A very bad news now. this weekend is running the Hub 3 convention and James is a guest, but from the official facebook we get a sad news:

To all of those attending The Hub 3 in Birmingham this weekend, unfortunately James will not be able to attend as originally planned. James had a spill on the set and took a bump to the head and was advised by doctors not to fly for a few days. He is resting and feeling much better (although somewhat guilty). He will definitely be able to travel in time for next weekend's Hallowhedon event.

James we hope you get better very soon, take care your head is so precious for all of us, we love you.

Party deleted

From jamesmarsters.com
James will be attending Monster Mania as previously announced and planned, August 22 & 23, 2009. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the "party" as previously planned. Although disappointed that we are unable to offer this, we recognize that many of you had already made travel plans and would not let you down. Come as planned and we'll show them how the "James Family" knows how to have a good time!!
Thanks again for all your support and good wishes.

There will be a Q & A at Monster Mania on Saturday, August 22 at 11 AM.

Updated from official site

From jamesmarsterslive.com
Union Chapel, 1 May : Special guests Gareth David-Lloyd, of Torchwood and Doctor Who fame, and Blue Gillespie guitarist Rhys, will play a short acoustic set at Union Chapel - you've never heard them like this before!
The fabulous Smoke Fairies will be supporting at the Union Chapel on Friday, 1 May.

Described by Timeout Magazine as "spectral folk-blues - takes us from the spooky, medieval sounds of Sussex to finger-picking in a Catskills Shack and on into blues-soaked New Orleans", the Smoke Fairies' acoustic blues are the perfect accompaniment to James.

The Marstersclass Event: Please note: a restricted number of extra autographs (non-personalised) and photographs may be available for sale on the day dependent upon the schedule. Solo photos with James or Gareth will be £20 and any joint photos will be £30.

There are no photograph and autograph opportunites for those only attending the evening concert.

Message from Steve

From jamesmarsterslive a Message from Steve Himber:

Thank you to everyone for the flood of compliments and thank you notes for the past "Your Funny Valentine" convention in NJ. I wish I could respond to each an every note, but I actually have a real job which includes other clients :-) I too was very happy with the way the day went, the venue and the general overall good feelings of the day. Special thanks to my helpers who I couldn't possibly do this without them.

As most of you know, James left first thing for the Asian press tour of Dragonball Evolution. He is traveling to all the major cities, along with his co-stars, to promote the film which will have it's worldwide premiere in Tokyo the first week of March. All reports back have been excellent and James and the movie are being extremely well received over there with great expectations.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and we all look forward to the next time.
Steve
and a very sad new about a member of the "Ghost of the robot" the James's band. Steve writes :

With great sadness we note that Steve Sellers, one of the founder members of Ghost of the Robot, died on Saturday 21st February.

Steve was a major catalyst for the band, which James fronted between 2002 and 2004. We all have many fond memories of Steve, in the band or just being himself.

I 'm close his family and friends.

Message from Steve

source Official site WE got a new message from Steve Himber, manager of James. He give us some good news ,I'm very happy to know James, Steve and their family are safe.

A big thank you for all of you who have checked in about the wildfires in California. I'm happy to assure everyone that James and his family are safe, as are mine. These wildfires are indeed a horrible tragedy and they hit awfully close to home. Neither James or I live in a mountain region in Los Angeles and that thankfully buffers us from these tragedies you see on the news.

Spoiler for Smallville new season:please highlight in order to show the text
Many of you have also asked whether or not the voice you heard on the latest episode of Smallville was James'? Yes, indeed it was. The producers asked us to please not mention it in advance as they wanted it to have an element of surprise. Sorry for the spoiler for those of you who don't live in the US and will see it later.

Lastly, as James mentioned in his last message, I am indeed working on an event for him for the beginning of 2009. If all goes smoothly, the event will take place on the weekend of February 14th (Yup - Valentines weekend and Presidents Day weekend - I can only imagine what he'll talk about!). I tell you this now, not to act as a tease but so that those of you who might want to attend can plan to keep that weekend free. I anticipate being able to post all the official details about venue, tickets, etc just before Thanksgiving so keep an eye out.

I hope this finds everyone healthy and safe and settling in towards the madness of the holidays.

Peace,
Steve

New role for James

The official James Marsters website some good news for James
James has accepted a fantastic new acting role from a UK company. We will share more details with you about the project once producers have given us the okay to do so. However, we wanted to tell you as soon as possible because unfortunately it conflicts directly with the Fangoria Convention of June 21-22 in New Jersey. As of now we still expect to be able to attend DragonCon in August, but must cancel the earlier event and we apologize for the inconvenience we know this will cause to some of you.
and a comment of Steve about the past convention in Uk.
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY - THE TRUTH ABOUT CONVENTIONS

I wanted to share a few reflections with you about the recent week of the tour. Let's start with the good - and there was a lot! Great seeing all the old familiar faces and meeting so many new. Thanks to Torchwood there is a whole new group of folks who have discovered James and now share in the enthusiasm of everything James. Eve Myles, Kai Owen, Gareth David Lloyd and all the Torchwood writers - need I say more, the absolute best! The staff of JMLive, who I simply couldn't do these events without. People having fun, meeting new friends, Union Chapel's great acoustics, lots of good laughs and memories. Some great performances by James.

The bad... Unfortunately the concert scheduled for The Rift didn't happen. James wasn't well and wasn't able to perform. We gave it our best to provide an alternative form of entertainment (bless Kai, Justine and Gareth) and now I'm the star of a u-tube video (this is very bad). Some of the weather was bad but typical for London this time of year. Some of the train services provided a challenge to many making their way to Milton Keynes and back. As usual, long lines.he truth be told, it seems to come from only a very small group of 'fans' but nonetheless very vocal ones. Let me assure you, that a few bad apples won't ruin it for the rest of us. One 'fan' in particular has overstepped the boundaries and I'm going to set the record straight once and for all. This lady wrote me an email alleging not only that James was too drunk to perform at The Rift and complaining about the event, but effectively calling him a liar about his illness. I'm also told she's been very busy on the fan boards, but I don't read those. To which I now publicly respond as follows:...

May 2008 - Vacation Break

Even though a full Q&A was promised for May, with James just having finished an incredibly busy and stressful year of steady, and sometimes grueling, work, and with his new project just ahead to prepare for, we have decided to give him a little bit of well-deserved vacation. The Q&A's will resume as soon as James' schedule permits.

Message from Steve

From .jamesmarsterslive Steve wrote a message of James for all fans:
Quote- James tells me that everything is going well on the Dragonball set. He's very excited about how everything is going along and the general feeling that things are clicking really well. He will wrap mid-March and continue on his busy schedule.

He just signed up to do two more episodes of Smallville in April, which was just picked up for another season on the CW. Prior to doing Smallville he performs his concert at the San Diego Indie Music Fest on March 29th and in between Smallville's he will appear at Grand Slam in Burbank. Then it's off to London for almost 2 weeks of concerts and appearances. He sounds really great and appreciates all the support that he's been getting from everyone. Lastly, he is planning on attending the Paley Center tribute to Buffy on March 20th here in LA

Q-A February

From JamesMarsters.com

What makes you sentimental?
My kids.

The handicap of our youth is the missing insight we gain in our later years. Shakespeare, though, lets younger characters hold monologues in which his own wisdom shines through. Man on a mission or vanity, what do you think?
I don’t think so. I think Shakespeare’s young people are impetuous and rash and maybe a reflection of his earlier self. We think of them as geniuses but that’s just because Shakespeare writes so damn well and you can’t ask him to stop doing that. But he doesn't look down on young people - some young people are quite smart.

How do you feel about luck?
Luck is everything, as the Chinese know. We think we control our destiny but it is horrifyingly random. Luck is everything, everything, everything. To get here, everyone of your ancestors had to survive long enough to mate – that’s lucky. 99% of the species born on this planet are extinct. You are part of the privileged lucky few that have survived.

What is the best thing and the worst thing about acting?
The worst thing is to have to wait around for people to create a job for you. Creatively that’s deadly. The best thing is getting all the credit for all the hard work that’s done on the set that you never even knew about when they finally do give you a job.

If you had to gain 30 pounds for a role, you'd eat…
Ice cream, fried chicken, pork ribs, chocolate.

Have you owned any pets since Zachary died? If so, what?
No I haven’t. I’m just not home very much. Maybe I'd get a cat. Continue...

Message from Steve Himber

From jamesmarsters.com Steve wrote a message of James for all fans in occasion of Happy Valentine's Day.
Quote:
In the absence of a very hard working Mr. Marsters, I thought I would carry on the tradition and give a shout out to everyone and wish you all a little heart Happy Valentines Day. James has told me that everything is going really well on the Dragonball set and that he's feeling great about his work and the work his fellow actors are doing. It's a pretty intense shoot for him because it not only requires him to engage his acting skills but is also a rather physical role. He sounds really happy... continue in official site
